Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson, has suggested that teammate, Mohamed Salah’s omission from the team’s squad was a consequence of what he did.
The Brazilian also backed Liverpool manager Arne Slot for guiding the Reds to win the Premier League title last season.
Recall that Slot recently dropped Salah from Liverpool’s squad to face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Dutchman insisted at his pre-match press conference that the Egyptian winger was left out of Liverpool’s squad due to his recent controversial comments about the “club putting him under the bus”.
“Salah, not being available is a consequence of what he did. He’s smart enough to know that,” Becker was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying.
We have had good relationship for a long time, he’s a legend for Liverpool. We will have a conversation, but it’s going to be private because it’s personal.
“I don’t think Mo Salah wanted to disrespect anyone… he just had the freedom to talk how he feels about his own situation.
“I really hope he plays for Liverpool again. But that’s between Mo and the club, not me.
“Do I back Arne Slot? Of course, yes.
The Premier League title last season. Looks like everyone takes for granted what we achieved last season.
“That should be enough, but we believe in his knowledge, his style of playing.”
