WC:Burkina Faso Triumph Over Uganda in Dramatic U-17 World Cup Knockout Clash.

 

The Aspire sport complex in Doha, Qatar, witnessed a clash for African dominance yesterday at the Fifa U-17 World Cup.

Burkina Faso and Uganda delivered what fans call the clash of two giant killers, and this was an entertaining encounter, as fans cheered for every attack, aerial battle and goalkeeper save. It was an entertaining atmosphere.

Uganda entered the game as favourites after eliminating Senegal 1-0, but Burkina Faso were faced as they also defeated tournament favourites and defending champions Germany 1-0.

Arafat Nkoola gave Uganda the lead in the 56th minute, but Burkina Faso got the well-deserved equaliser from a beautiful goal by Alassana Bagayogo in the 77th minute. The game was square at full time as both teams proceeded to penalties.

Burkina Faso progressed to the quarterfinals after defeating Uganda 5–3 in the all-African derby. Despite Uganda’s elimination, they earn the hearts of supporters with their performance.

Burkina Faso turns attention to their semifinal clash with Italy on the 21st November. A victory will make them the third Western African country in history to reach a semi-final at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
