Chidera Ejuke is favoured to be named in the starting line-up for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs final with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Ejuke starred after coming on as a substitute in the Super Eagles 2-1 semi-final victory over the Panthers of Gabon on Thursday night.
The Sevilla of Spain star scored Nigeria’s second goal, and was a thorn in the flesh of Gabonese defenders.
It was the winger’s first appearance for the Super Eagles since featuring as a substitute in the team’s last group game against Sudan at the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
According to a reliable camp source, head coach, Eric Chelle is seriously considering starting Ejuke against the Congolese.
The decision would see Ademola Lookman or Samuel Chukwueze drop to the bench.
