One of the most charismatic managers in the history of the game, Adekanye will forever be remembered as the woman who achieved the impossible with Ekiti Queens FC. Favourite for relegation going into the 2022/2023 NWFL-Championship (2nd division) season, a change of emphasis, mood and direction at the club, led by Adekanye, soon transformed the BAORESS BABES into fairytale NWFL-Premiership contender.
Her immense man-management played a major role in transforming Ekiti Queens FC from a team languishing in the NWFL-Nationwide (3rd division) into NWFL-Premiership (Top flight).
The Ado-born football gaffer and former Sunshine Queens FC team manager is widely regarded as one of the best female football managers in Nigeria the game has ever produced.
The 4-year old Ekiti Queens FC emerged from a nerve-shredding last game of the season with their NWFL-Premiership status intact thanks to a 2-0 victory over Rivers Angels at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium as Sunshine Queens FC relegated after losing 2-1 against Remo Stars Ladies away from home in a dramatic season finale.
